| A CARGO DE | Joseph D'Aquino, is a playwright, director who has trained and worked with many icons of American theatre, TV and film: Sidney Lumet, Arthur Penn, Bobby Lewis, Barbara Bain, Lyle Kessler, Ellen Burstyn, and Jack Gelber, to name a few. In 1996 he co-founded Emerge Arts Projects, a non-profit theatre company out of New York that specialized in staged readings of plays by emerging playwrights. Over ten years, Joe and Emerge Arts supported the foundational work of overforty writers and directors, moving their plays from the page to the stage. He recently retired from teaching after 20 years of academia. |
